Lake Kissimmee State Park - Cow Camp
November 29 and December 14, 2008

Next

This ride is to the Lake Kissimmee State Park - Cow Camp Lake Kissimmee State Park where we are going to visit the Cow Camp. The Cow Camp is a replica of an 1870's Florida Cow Camp where cow hunters would stop with their herd on the way to St. Augustine to sell them.

No one owned the Cow Camps, instead they were there for all cow hunters to use. They kept them in good repair and left them like they found them for the next occupants.

The Cow Camp is complete with an 1870's era "Florida Cracker" who will tell you all about the life at a Cow Camp.

As we get ready to start our ride Mike and Paula are busy making last minute preparations.

Since we are heading South today we head for breakfast in Kissimmee.

Downtown Kissimmee has been modernized from the sleepy cow town it was in the 50's

Most of the businesses have been remodeled.

Much like Sanford and Mt. Dora most of the buildings have gotten a face lift.
