The ride today is to the
Avian
Reconditioning Center in Apopka. This was one of the most
interesting rides we've taken in quite a while.
The Avian Reconditioning Center is a not for profit birds of prey
rehabilitation and education facility. One of their main focuses is the
physical reconditioning of raptors that have been inactive for an
extended period of time while recovering from illness or injury.
They also use falconry techniques to evaluate a bird's chances for
survival in the wild after recovering from an injury and to teach
nestling birds how to hunt. Education is a primary focus as well and we
provide many education opportunities using live birds of prey.
The center operates solely on donations. I encourage you to visit
them, see what they do and make a donation. you can do so there or go to
http://adoptabird.org/
You can also call 407-461-1056 to support this worthy cause.

This ride started out a little on the cool side with
patchy morning ground fog. |
| As we pass by the farm land and away from the low
lying areas the fogs has gone. |

Well what did you expect? This site is about Harleys
and nature. What's more natural than a tattoo on a biker? |
| These are female Snail Kites. They primarily feed on
Apple Snails. |
